Sophia Attebery
Media/Video Production Intern

Sophia is an award-winning dance filmmaker and her film, Not Today, has been screened in festivals around the world. She studied documentary filmmaking at Prague Film School and received a BA in dance from Oberlin College in 2019. Her goal is to support dancers, musicians, artists, and activists through multidisciplinary dance and video documentation work.

Mallory Butler
Media/Marketing Intern

Mallory grew up in Washington, D.C., dancing at the Washington Ballet, under internationally recognized Artistic Director Septime Webre. At the age of 12, she moved to France for two years and has since lived in the United Kingdom, where she received her degree in Social Anthropology in Scotland and launched her career in England. Mallory has worked for Virgin Management, the Ambassador of Monaco to Washington, D.C., and the D.C. Commission on the Arts and Humanities. She is bilingual in English and French, enjoys conquering month-long hikes, digging into good books and spending time with her family.


Amber Lucia Chabus
Arts Administration/Development Intern

Amber Lucia Chabus is a dancer, choreographer, and arts administrator. She graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2018, where she received dual degrees with Honors in Dance and Kinesiology. Amber is currently based in Washington D.C., where she performs with Heart Stück Bernie, ReVision Dance Company, Xing Dance Theater, and Orange Grove Dance. She has worked in arts administration at Dance Place, Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, and the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center. Amber is excited to spend her summer at The Yard and share with everyone her love of dance, watermelon, and her cat Grizabella.

Ellen Duffy
Arts Administration/Artist Services Intern

Ellen is a dancer, dance educator, and choreographer from Reno, NV. She is a dance graduate of the Las Vegas Academy of the Arts and holds a BA in Journalism and minor in Dance from the University of Nevada, Reno. Ellen works as an arts integration specialist with Sierra Arts Foundation, teaches country line dancing, performs as a showgirl, and has worked as a professional mermaid in Las Vegas.


Jessica Hayward
Technical Production Intern

Jessica, originally from Beaverton, Oregon, is a dance artist and educator. She is a 2019 graduate of Muhlenberg College, where she double majored in Dance and Art History and had the joy of studying dance at Accademia Dell’Arte in Arezzo, Italy. Jessica is an active educator and has taught ballet, modern, jazz, and creative movement, as well as toured in elementary schools. While at Muhlenberg, she performed in works by Orion Duckstein, Megan Flynn, and Heidi Cruz-Austin and others, as well as choreographing and performing in original works. Jessica also works in costume and technical production for dance.


Kaitlyn Lawrence
Technical Production Intern

Kaitlyn Lawrence is from Denver, Colorado and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in dance with an emphasis in choreography from the University of Colorado Boulder. Having also studied neuroscience, Kaitlyn combines these two interests to facilitate conversations about the neuro-physical responses to intimacy and memory. Kaitlyn works as a stage manager and lighting designer and has stage managed for several artists around the country. She teaches at various studios in Denver and is a company member with Rocky Mountain Rhythm. Kaitlyn is very excited to join other artists as a technical production intern this summer at The Yard!
