Adult Community Dance Classes are taught by Yard staff members (Alison ManningJesse Keller Jason, and Holly Jones) and by visiting guest artists. They range in style with consistent offerings in Horton, Contemporary, and Jazz.

Summer classes take place in The Yard’s Open Air Studio and winter classes are held at the West Tisbury Library.

Classes are open to all ages and dance abilities, providing a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together. In a typical class, you will find The Yard’s summer interns, visiting artists, people in their sixties and seventies, professional dancers, teenagers, and The Yard’s senior staff, among others. We hope you will join us!

Yoga at the Yard is an extension of the Yards dedication to physical exploration, experience and performance. As with the community class dance program, resident dancers and community members come together to inhale, exhale and move. Alignment, breath and body awareness and community are the guiding principles for all of our teachers. Classes are held in our open-‐air studio where practitioners gaze out at trees and flowers as they find their own tree poses and lotuses. Downward dogs, not dogma. Yoga at the Yard is directed by Mollie Doyle.
