Making It Artist Educator
Danielle Doell, originally from Cleveland, Ohio, graduated from Ohio University with a BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography and a Minor in Business Administration. Danielle is a dancer, choreographer, and educator and wears many other hats when necessary. Danielle has had the pleasure of dancing for The Movement Project of Cleveland, the Sean Curran Company, Alex|Xan: the Median Movement, Doug Nielsen, Chengxin Wei, and DanceTheYard. She also enjoys creating her own work and remains inspired by the many artists she has come in contact with from her choreographic beginning at Ohio University, throughout her time in NYC, and from her transformative adventures in Europe. Danielle has also been lucky enough to be employed by many incredible organizations including New York Live Arts, Gibney Dance Center, the Cathy Sharp Dance Ensemble of Basel, Switzerland, the Dublin Dance Festival, the Martha's Vineyard Film Festival, and The Yard. Danielle's journey with The Yard began in the summer of 2014 where she was the Community Programs and General Management Intern. She fell for the Vineyard and it's community immediately and couldn't stay away for long. After a year of travel and work in NYC and Europe, Danielle returned to the island and is ecstatic to be an Artist Educator for the Making It Education Program. She has been teaching dance for 7 years for many institutions including Factory Street Dance Studio, MYART Studio of Dublin, the Dublin Dance Festival, Kids DO Dance! at The Yard with Deborah Damast, and the Ohio University Non-Major Dance Program. Danielle is so excited to be back on island as a year-round resident to continue work with The Yard and the community of Martha's Vineyard.
