Director of Artist Services
Holly Jones is the Director of Artist Services for The Yard, as well as a freelance dancer, choreographer and educator based in New York City and on Martha’s Vineyard. Ms. Jones is currently in her fifth season with The Yard where her work contributes to The Yard's overarching mission of support for emerging choreographers and performers through residency financial support, dance and arts presentations, and a commitment to arts education in the local and national communities.
Ms. Jones hails from the Rocky Mountains where she trained with the Colorado Jazz Dance Company. She received further dance training on scholarship at the School at Jacob's Pillow and Perry Mansfield Performing Arts School before moving to New York City to attend Marymount Manhattan College. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.F.A. in Dance and received the Gold Key Award in Jazz Dance under the direction of Katie Langan at Marymount.
Ms. Jones has had the privilege of working with, and performing pieces by Robert Battle, Larry Keigwin, Jessica Lang, Deganit Shemy, Pedro Ruiz, Abdur Rahim-Jackson, Tami Stronach, Shen Wei, Alwin Nikolais and Bill Soleau, as well as dancing with Australian based, CoreDance Contemporary Company, Kate Bishop Option Dance, Justina Grayman, and the Lori Leshner Dance Project.
Currently, Holly dances with the contemporary company, DanceTheYard. Her own choreographic work has been presented each year as a part of The Yard’s performance series as well as at the Built on Stilts Dance Festival in Oak Bluffs, the Nike Apparel Launch Campaign for the NFL, many parades, and in her hometown for the Colorado Jazz Dance Company. Ms. Jones is a teaching artist at The Yard, and on guest faculty for Westchester Dance Academy, Spindrift MV, Center Stage Dance Studio, Steffi Nossen School of Dance, and Art of Dance.
