Scott Nelson
Production Manager and Resident Lighting Designer

Originally from Atlanta, Scott has been a freelance lighting designer, stage, production, and tour manager in theaters across the world for over two decades. He joined The Yard in 2013.  

He’s toured throughout the US, France, Spain, Germany, Italy, the UK, Bosnia, Australia, and New Zealand.  Recent designs include 5 seasons with Slippery Rock Dance, Judge Jackie Justice (PCLO), Boeing Boeing (PCLO); Broadway Love Shriners (NYC Masonic Temple); Constellations: a new opera (Neighborhood House, Philly), The Blue of Distance (DanceTheYard), WayWardLand (New Hazlett), Belladonna (Adam Barruch Dance), and The Drowsy Chaperone (Pittsburgh Playhouse). Scott is on the production team at Lucky Plush Productions, Carolyn Dorfman Dance, New Jersey Performing Arts Center, and Bronx Academy for Art and Dance (BAAD!).

Scott is a member of the Actors Equity Association, and a graduate of Point Park University’s Conservatory of Performing Arts.  

When not on the Vineyard, Scott lives in New York City.
