Sig Van Raan

Sig received his BA in psychology from the University of Delaware, MA in social psychology from the New School for Social Research, and PhD in clinical psychology from the Union Graduate Institute. He worked as a consulting psychologist for Western Massachusetts Schools, an adjunct professor at the University of Massachusetts, and in his own private practice in New York and Massachusetts for over 30 years. Mr. Van Raan owned and operated the restaurant Cafe Luna in Oak Bluffs for four years, managed the Wintertide Coffee House in Vineyard Haven, and created and sold Isla Products, a pesto production business, in the mid-to-late 1990’s. He served as a clinical consultant for MV Community Services and the Oak Bluffs School, as well as a management consultant for the Wampanog Tribe of Martha’s Vineyard and the town of Chilmark, where he helped to facilitate the decision-making and development planning processes. Presently, Mr. Van Raan is a writer and playwright.
