Island-favorite Malpaso Dance Company will be back on Martha’s Vineyard, developing new work during a Yard Off Shore Residency.
In the six short years since its establishment in 2012, Malpaso Dance Company has already become one of the most sought after Cuban dance companies with a growing international profile. Emphasizing a collaborative creative process, Malpaso is committed to working with top international choreographers, while also nurturing new voices in Cuban choreography.

Osnel Delgado, Artistic Director of Malpaso Dance Company
Osnel Delgado graduated as dancer and professor from the National Dance School in 2003. He was a member of Danza Contemporanea de Cuba (DCC) from 2003 to 2011. Delgado has received major Cuban awards including the Premio a Mejor Coreografia del Concurso Solamente Solos (Award for Best Solo Choreography), el Premio Ramiro Guerra (Ramiro Guerra Prize), as well as a Special Mention award at the VII Iberomerican “Alicia Alonso” Choreography competition in Madrid. Delgado has worked with choreographers such as Mats Ek, Rafael Bonachela, Kenneth Kvanstrom, Ja Linkens, Itzik Galili, Samir Akika, Pedro Ruiz, Isidro Rolando, and George Cespedes, among others, and he has created works for DCC, Rakatan, and Ebony. He serves as professor of dance at the National Dance School in Havana, Cuba.
Beatriz Garcia Diaz (Company Member, Cenizas)
Beatriz Garcia Diaz is a graduate of the Superior Institute of Arts (2016) and the National Ballet School in Havana (2008). She was a member of Danza Teatro Retazos until 2014. She has worked with choreographers such as Isabel Bustos, Miguel Azcue, Irene Kalbusch, Pepe Hevia, Trey McIntyre, Aszure Barton, Sonya Tayeh, and Ohad Naharin, among others. She joined Malpaso in June 2014.
Dailedys Carrazana (Founder and Associate Artistic Director, Duo de la Escoba)
Dailedys Carrazana graduated from the National Ballet School in Havana in 2003. She was a member of Danza Contemporanea de Cuba from 2003 to 2011, before founding Malpaso with Osnel Delgado Wambrug. Daile has worked with choreographers such as Mats Ek, Jan Linkens, Samir Akika, Pedro Ruiz and Isidro Rolando, among others.
Robyn Mineko Williams (Choreographer, Elemental)
Robyn Mineko Williams danced for River North Dance Chicago and was a member of Hubbard Street Dance Chicago for twelve seasons. She began making her own work via Hubbard Street’s Inside/Out Choreographic Workshop and has since created multiple premieres for Hubbard Street including The Art of Falling with Second City and two full-length works for children, Harold and the Purple Crayon and Mariko’s Magical Mix. She has been commissioned by Pacific Northwest Ballet, Charlotte Ballet, Grand Rapids Ballet, and more, and has had her work presented at venues such as the Kennedy Center, The Joyce Theater, Jacob’s Pillow, American Dance Festival, and MCA Chicago. She was one of 2014 Dance Magazine’s “25 to Watch” and is a four-time Princess Grace Foundation–USA grant recipient. In 2016, Williams was selected as Chicago’s Best Choreographer. She was named as one of NewCity’s Players: 50 People Who Really Perform for Chicago in 2016 and 2018. Her site-sensitive performance series, Undercover Episodes, currently tours the US.
